To combat the shrinking half-life of knowledge, organizations have been forced to develop new methods of deploying instruction.

It' makes mroe sense for the general public. And how are Deaf/ HoH people supposed to learn the phonetic system of what to them is a foreign language? That seems a bit short sighted to me.
